Laureateship & Outreach

As Poet Laureate Emerita of a culturally and geographically diverse region, Lisa advocates for poetry across a broad spectrum of organizations. She has created and hosted numerous events, providing public programs for new and experienced writers alike to develop and present their voices; and giving talks, readings, and workshops in educational, business, civic, prison, and private settings. The community project of her 2017-2018 tenure was a county-wide ekphrastic challenge, Spoken Art, that showcased local artwork in several media, and received hundreds of original poems from writers of all ages.

In addition to readings and craft talks, Lisa speaks outside of literary forums, bringing multidisciplinary perspective to conversations on issues of local and global concern. Contact Lisa for engagements.
